Careers Guidance Appointments

Guidance Appointments, which last up to 45 minutes, are available Monday to Friday at Newton Park and on Thursdays at Sion Hill. All appointments are conducted by experienced, and professionally qualified Careers specialists. Appointments are impartial and confidential and focus on your needs as an individual. Popular reasons for booking appointments include:

  • help with career choice
  • identifying strengths and skills
  • applying for postgraduate study
  • mock interview practice
  • improving personal statements

Come along for a one-to-one session with a Careers Adviser for up to 10 minutes.
Popular questions include:

  • How do I tailor my CV?
  • I've got an interview, how do I prepare?
  • Where can I look for jobs?

  • What are my options after graduation?

No need to book as the Drop In is run on a ‘first come first served’ basis. If you are making a special journey, please contact us to check the surgery is running. During busy periods there may be a short waiting time.

Information Queries Drop-in

Monday - Friday 9-4 pm.

The Information Team are available at Newton Park for quick careers and information queries Monday to Friday. We have a wide selection of resources including a careers library with books on anything from information regarding Gap Years to resources about specific careers. We also have a range of publications covering Graduate Training Schemes, Work Experience, Postgraduate Courses and more. Please call in and talk to us.

E-guidance

This service is for Bath Spa University current students and recent graduates (up to a year). We can offer information and advice via email on any matter related to your future options, decisions, job hunting, applications, interviews or career development.  You can attach up to three documents (not exceeding 1 MB in total) such as your CV and/or letter of application, for example. Please note we do not offer a proof reading service, although we might point out errors as part of our feedback. We strongly recommend face-to-face or telephone interviews for more in-depth guidance. Guidance appointments, which last up to 45 minutes, are available Monday to Friday at Newton Park (usually Thursday afternoons at Sion Hill). They are impartial and confidential and take place in a private interview room. We aim to accommodate you as soon as possible, and even at our busy periods within ten working days.
