What can I do with my degree?

What can I do with my Degree? Employment opportunities are diverse and not limited by subjects of study.

Many employment options are open to graduates of any subject, and are equally dependent on the interests, skills and motivations you have built up, both within your academic studies, and alongside it.

Draw on voluntary work, social activities, placements, part time and vacation work to demonstrate the variety and scope of your experience.

You need to look at your interests, skills and experience (academic, social and work related) and match these against potential career options. At the Careers Service we have a number of resources to help you:

PROSPECTS PLANNER – a graduate computer guidance package available online from Prospects website.

The programme helps you explore your strengths and abilities, asking a series of questions and then matching your responses to a database of 800+ jobs. It will allow you to compare occupations in detail, assess your chances of success, and help you to develop an action plan for CVs and applications.

Your Degree, What Next? provides general information about where you are now and how you might like to progress www.prospects.ac.uk
